Dak Takeover,
A HI NRG Update
Good morning, reader.
We’re honored to announce that next Thursday, April 16th, our friends at Dak from Amsterdam will be taking over the pourover bar! A few folks from the Dak team have crossed the pond to attend the World of Coffee Festival in San Diego, and while they’re here in California, they’ll be stopping by HI NRG. From 10am to 12:30pm, meet some of the masterminds behind one of our stalwart roasters, and sample some of their brews.
For coffee this week, we’ll be starting off with Dak’s Blackberry Hug on espresso, and continuing with their Hydro Honey on batch filter, a natural and a honey-processed Ethiopian coffee, respectively. On pourover, we start the week with a variety of very light coffees from Ceto in New Jersey.
Here’s the retail rundown:
Ceto:
Abrar Keno, natural Ethiopia 74110 & 74112 from Jimma
Elto Natural, natural Ethiopia 74110, 74112, 74158 & 74165 from Sidama
Push Pull:
Gemechu, natural Ethiopia
Tanat:
Elto Elora natural Ethiopia
Farficho Asefa natural Ethiopia from Tamiru Tadesse
Dak:
Halo Berry, natural Ethiopia
Rumba, semi-anaerobic yeast-inoculated Ethiopia
Blue Lagoon, natural Ethiopia
In the tasty treat department, cheddar chive biscuits and lemon olive oil cake will be available all week, Wednesday through Sunday, and red bean sesame cookies will be on the shelf Thursday through Sunday.
Our long-time resident DJ Chaos Universe is back on the decks this Sunday, bringing her usual eclectic mix of head-bopping jams.
That’s all for now. We’ll see you in the cafe.
xoxo NK & LG

I’m gonna be first in line.
Woohoo!!!
